Yes, if you can afford to come here, you can study English for up to 1 year fulltime.
This allows you to work up to 20 hours per week while studying. However,English is expensive, more than mainstream courses, such as Cooking.
You might like to consider coming to study a few months of English, say, one semester (about 12 weeks costing about A$300 (about Euro 200) per week, andthen move into a mainstream cooking course.
If you can do this for 2 years fulltime, not counting English course, you will qualify for the permanent visa as long as you work for 900 hours during the course. The college can help arrange this work for you. It is paid
work.
The cooking course costs about A$11,000 per year for 2 years. The cost of living for each year is another A$1,000 per month, so A$12,000 per year,
Total of all would be : English, 1 semester to prepare you for the cooking
course : A$3,600
Plus course $22,000 for 2 years
Plus cost of living A$24,000 for 2 years
TOTAL : A$49,600 (About Euro 30,000) for the 2 years, and then you can get
permanent residence and work fulltime.
If you can't afford to do this, you can come and study the English for up to
a year, then you would need to go home and work for 12 mnths as a pastry
chef or cook before you could apply for the permanent visa, but that may be
your only choice.
You have to show you have money in the bank on a bank statement for at least
the first year of cost of living, plus 2 years cooking course and English,
Total A$26,600 or about Euro 16,000, to get the student visa (which allows
you to work up to 20 hours per week, which cannot be included in these
calculations).
